This project aims to address the misconceptions that people have unintentionally attached to this street. I chose the theme of ‘gap’ to highlight the positive sides of Tôn Đản and to show that it is no longer as negative as the rumors suggest. The gaps that appear in Tôn Đản are the result of these outdated ideas. There are three types: the perception gap, the generation gap, and the social gap. Each gap has its own cause and its own consequence, but together they lead to one outcome: Tôn Đản becomes isolated from the very city it has belonged to since liberation.
The video is a fast-paced motion piece designed to let viewers feel these three invisible gaps through music and moving typography. I believe meaning is not only understood through reading. Typography itself can create emotion through the speed it appears, the quantity of letters, the scale, or simply the arrangement of text. These elements allow the audience to understand the message even without reading every word.
